Park House

Park House is a short break centre which has been established in partnership with Nomad Housing Association and Durham County Council. It is an ordinary house specially adapted for young disabled people.

Park House offers young disabled people, between 9 and 18 years, 1, 2 or 3 overnight stays, providing a service that is not available through family-based care services.

The facilities are open to young people who have complex physical needs requiring specialist equipment as well as those who have specific communication needs and/or a sensory impairment.

Park House is a safe, positive and stimulating environment which aims to give each young person the opportunity to make everyday decisions and to take part in experiences many people take for granted.

Fully accessible by wheelchair, facilities at Park House include a lift, hoists, bath aids and special toilet/bathing facilities, as well as a variety of suitably equipt activity rooms.
